Organizations using Interbase.
I don't have an exhaustive list, but for now you can see Interbase is not confined to small companies. This is from an an article published in Borland's website:
- Motorola
- Nokia
- MCI
- Northern Telecom
- Bear Stearns
- The Money Store
- The US Army
- NASA
- Boeing
If you want your company here, let me know, please. If you want to provide more extensive information, I will set up a separate page for your case. Thank you! By default, I don't publish email addresses of my contributors, unless you explicitly ask me for including your email. I don't collect information other than the one shown here. The technical accuracy and the opinions of my contributors are their sole responsibility and don't reflect necessarily the corporate and official statements of the organization where they work.
Distributel Communications Limited - Canada
We are a long distance phone company. We were the first to challenge Bell in the courts and win (opening up the way for most of our competition).
Interbase is used to provide a real time, 24x7 database system with over 300 GB of online data spread across two provinces and 3 offices with both human and automated use of the database complete with fail over/load balancing and real time/delayed replication. |

I chose to migrate to open source software. The intranet site is called "The Team 40th WorkWeb", it's currently in development but when finished it will serve over 300 users. Interbase was chosen because of it's open source, multi-platform availability, and support from 3rd party software vendors. |

The majority of jobs we are doing is using Windows based PC's as workstations while the database and other parts of the application are running under Unix or Linux on a dedicated server. Typically these are hospital laboratories, small or even huge companies - briefly the kind of their business is very variable. |

Origin Internet - Australia.
Interbase 5.6 is our database engine of choice. We are an ISP with around 6000 clients, our billing system is written in Delphi 3/5 with BDE/ODBC connectivity. It all runs on several NT 4.0 machines. We also have many web sites using Interbase as their backend. As a mission critical solution, you can't beat it. |

We have been using Borland products for ten years and most of our work concentrates on marketing databases, where we work for companies such as The Economist and Lloyd's of London, and internet sites, The National Trust (http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/) and UK Index (http://www.ukindex.co.uk/). We use Interbase for all our internet developments (except UK Index which is currently being redeveloped using Interbase).

Adams International - Thailand
This is an agricultural company in rural Thailand. We have outgrown our FoxBase system. This year I am recoding everything in C++. A few weeks ago I found Interbase 6.0. Downloaded it and installed it. Now I'm crawling up the learning curve. This afternoon my C++ code put data into the database for the first time. It is impressive that a dodo like me can get it to work with nothing more than the binaries and the beta documentation. I've read the histories, and I'd like to thank you [Ann Harrison] and your allies for having created something that is very good and very useful. |
