Useful and miscellaneous links.

For now, I have only the most basic links. When the list was big enough, I will categorize the links into main links, utilities, personal pages and so on. Do you want to be here? Let me know, please.

Main links:

  • Interbase's official website, ISC.
  • Firebird, home of the open source fork of IB. If that doesn't work, try here.
  • IBPhoenix Corp, the company that provides services for IB and FB.
  • IBDI in Germany, a site maintained by Karsten Strobel.
  • Firebird in France, a site maintained by Philippe Makowski.

Interbase newsgroups:

There're a lot of Interbase related newsgroups scattered through the world. Click here to see the list of newsgroups. I will expand the list as I receive notification of their existence. Please contact me if you want to be listed.

Useful packages and utilities:

I've decided to move them to a special separate page. Click here to see the list of packages and utilities. Please contact me if you want to be listed.

Interbase support:

I expect this list to grow in the upcoming months when IB is finally released as official open source database. So, in advance, I moved the support list to another page. Click here to see companies offering consultancy on IB. Please contact me if you want to be listed.

Miscellaneous documents.

How did Interbase appear?
An IB tree. :-)
Would you shoot an ant with a bazooka?
The true history of BLOBs.

Related links:

  • The Visual DBase WebRing.
  • The JBuilder WebRing.
  • There were 111 Delphi WebRings when I checked in mid 1999. I cannot list all of them here. You can search typing "Delphi" at the WebRing search page if you want.

Database products:

A list of links to relational and non-relational database products.

Personal links (not related to IB) that I recommend:

  • Sonique, very good audio player that supports streaming formats and it's free.
  • IrfanView, little and powerful graphic/video viewer and converter, free.
  • Gimp-Win, a Windows port of the free GNU based Graphic Image Processor.
  • Free replacements for the Windows Explorer: Litestep, GXExplorer (made with Delphi), and PowerDesk Lite. Commercial replacement: TurboBrowser.
