Before you contact me.

    Tired of receiving unrelated or careless email, I decided to redirect people here, in the hope they will read these lines before clicking the link to email me. So, please, don't be lazy and spend a minute reading here before proceeding:

A) If you want free support, read this list and look for your best option. The general firebird-support list is your first target in that list and second is firebird-java for InterClient or Firebird-JDBC driver issues and development. These lists are under Firebird control, but they accept posts from IB and FB users. (Despite its name, ib-support is the main Firebird list for application developers; the name predates Firebird.) If you want more options, my newsgroups list may help (where you also will find Borland-dependent newsgroups). This page is a hub for both free and paid services.

B) If you want paid, professional, dedicated tech support, my local support list is a good starting point. Furthermore, the companies that have worldwide presence through associates are IBPhoenix (Firebird and InterBase support) and (InterBase support). This page is a hub for both free and paid services.

C) If you want IBO support, go to www.ibobjects.com; if you want FibPlus support, go to www.devrace.com and if you want IBX support, go to the Borland newsgroups.

D) I personally don't offer private IB/FB tech support. I think that I do enough (and more than I should do sometimes) with my previous participation in ib-support and being still in the Firebird development lists. So, please refer to the previous paragraphs. I make a life from developing small scientific, database & web applications on request (plus occasional training). As my main page says I cannot answer support questions by email. I won't reply to private support questions!

E) Feel free to contact me about the IB Webring, this web site or if I requested you to send me a demo of a Firebird failure privately. I can accept some specific (and paid) development task, but I owe priority to my few but loyal customers, so my availability depends on what I'm doing when you ask. See here what tools I can use for on-demand development and how much I bill customers. Don't use my account to send me spam (UCE, UBE, junk email), because I do my best to report spammers and you may regret that action.
